For the most part, another miserable week. Chris got me sick and it really started to take effect Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. I started with the usual scratchy throat and it turned into a whole big mess. I slept for 12 hours on Wednesday. I just couldn't get myself out of bed. Went to work achy with fever and it was the coldest, most miserable night i've worked in a long time, if not ever. With the wind chill it was -3 and I was shivering the whole night. My hands and feet were ice cubes and I couldn't wait to get out of there. Thursday I woke up feeling better than the day before but still not too great. I started to get congestion and still had a slight fever. Friday I still had congestion and couldn't drag myself out of bed. I had no appetite and had a horrible stomach ache before work. Dry heaved a bit but nothing came out. Joe was sick also and he left early. I wound up getting at least 3 hours OT for the week. Wish I could get 2 hours a day. I just hope they don't start moving our start time up to coincide with the late trucks. It was a very light week for freight and bet next week will be a lot heavier. The momentum will start picking up as the weather starts to get warmer. Only a few more weeks until winter is over and I can't wait. My job is so easy right now but working in the cold really really kills it.
I came straight to my parent's house from Fed Ex. Started taking antibiotics and Musenex and Tyenol. It's Sunday and I still feel that I have a very very slight temperature but the congestion is almost gone. I decided not to go to hockey which was the best choice. I watched the Ranger game last night (barely squeezed out a win) and played some COD 4 and messed around on the computer.
I didn't do much of anything all week. I started playing Guitar Hero again and I definitely want to get Guitar Hero 3 for my birthday for the 360. The Wami Bar doesn't work on the PS2 version but I still managed to beat one of the songs I needed to. I got 80 percent on the Megadeath song and can beat that Miserlou song if I can get Star Power when I need it. I haven't even tried Instituitionalized yet because I've been focusing on the other two songs. I downloaded that Undertow game and don't think I'll ever really play it. Everything seems so small. I do want to get Bionic Commando, Rez, Fable and Ninja Gaidan but I think i'll buy the later two on Xbox instead of buying them online.
We're trying to teach Jeremy his alphabet. Holly got him some flash cards from work and he knows a few letters here and there. Not too bad at all.

Stressful Week

It was a stressful week and I'm glad to see it go. Dale took me car shopping on Monday. Holly had a two hour delay and as I was checking my messages on the way down to Allentown, found out that the wheel wouldn't turn on my car. We had miserable weather the night before (below zero) and all the cars were affected by it. Dale's brakes were making funny noises almost the whole way down to Allentown. We found the Singh's without too much of a problem. I immediately asked to see the Neon and took it for a test drive. Everything was nice about the car and I decided to get it. Started the paper work and then went to lunch after the financing paper was started. He told me it would take an hour to get the loan finalised so Dale and I went to Burger King. That's when his reverse completely gave out. I had to push him out of the space. Went back to the car lot and had to go to tags place. Had to push Dale backwards once again. Got the tags and plate for the car and we were ready to go. Stopped at Wawa on the way home to fuel up and found out that the fuel cap had a lock on it. Had to go back to the dealer and wait over an hour to get the right fuel cap. Get home and find out that the car key is only a valet key and we have to get another key made if we want to work our trunk.
The serpentine belt was off my car and I had to take Dale's car to work. I had trouble getting out of the yard with it. It was whining like a bitch. I had to stop once on the way to work and had to stop immediately after getting out of work. Didn't know if I would make it home. I tried to go fast to keep the tranny going but of course I got stuck behind trucks and slow drivers. I got home and found out that Holly had been having major heart problems during the night. Her leg had been bothering her for about a week (felt cold to the touch, numb, no circulation) and she may've been worrying about it. Called Dr. Unfoundu and made an appointment for Thursday. Her heart bothered her for the next few days even while resting. Dale changed the belt for me and my car was good to go.
The next night we were supposed to get horrible rain storms that would change over to ice. I got really upset before work and started flipping out at Holly because I was pissed off about the weather. Made it to work OK but the roads were disgusting on the way home. We had snow the night before so all the snow that was left on the roads had turned to ice. 940 had big chunks of ice and ice patches and Locust Ridge was a complete sheet of ice. I lost control of the van, almost hit and tree and wound up getting stuck on the side of the road. Some guys got out and tried to push me out but it was too stuck. A kid in a pickup tried to pull me out but his car didn't have enough juice. One of his friend's drove by with a jeep and luckily he pulled me out. I was lucky that suck people stopped for me. I took off work the next night because I was afraid of a repeat performance from the night before. Took Holly to mom's dr. on Thursday and wasn't too happy with the visit. She told us the heart problems were probably a panic attack, which I believed but she didn't say anything to us about her leg. She sugested a blood test and I took her immediatley afterward. 200 dollars later and we were on our way to Walmart for grocery shopping. Forgot out doctors notes and had to go back to the office. Went food shopping and came home.
Friday night at work we were supposed to get a late purchase with 180 bills of displays on it. I volunteered to stay to do it but it didn't get there in time. I did get two hours overtime. I told Dale earlier in the week to call me if there was ever the chance of coming in early and getting OT.
Saturday I went to mom's at about four or five. I finally got the Xbox back but didn't even hook it up until late Sunday. I was so engrossed by Grim Fandango and was doing fairly well with the game. I just hung out the whole night, playing Fandango, bullshitting, eating, watching the Simpsons and playing on the computer. I tried to watch some of the Islanders and Thrashers game but I can't force myself to watch those Islanders. Jeremy threw a fit right before bed and kept yelling that he wanted to come home so I put him in Chris' bed and layed down with him. I fell asleep with him from 10:30 to 1:30 and then got up and played Fandango again. It was my turn to drive to hockey in the morning. They had the free newspapers that the guy was taking pictures for a few weeks back. I got three pics in it. They came out Ok but I wish I wasn't looking down at the puck. I played decent at hockey. I played defense the whole time but in the middle I started to get tired of it and wanted to play up. I scored at least 3 and had at least 2 assists. Bobby and his friend were playing like complete dicks and even though I didn't get hit, it pissed me off because he was hitting people like Mark. I was going to creme Bobby but he left before I got a chance to. I officially have no wrist shot or snap shot. I don't know if I just need a new stick or what. I got home and had to immediately go and pick up Chris from college. He has strept throat. I took Aunt Mare's car because I didn't want to drive mine that far after driving it to Stroudsburg and then to Holly's later in the night. I played Fandango and got stuck. Looked up what I had to do and find out it's because the CPU runs too fast and I didn't get a patch for it. I basically ruined the whole second act by reading the spoilers. It pissed me off a bit because I really liked the game but found out how much stuff I missed. I missed the gold alcohol (even though I pressed on it but didn't know I could walk behind the bar) and I never solved the Beatnik mystery. I wonder if I would've. The key to games like that is that every scene is relevant in some way and you basically have to try every item you have on every puzzle. I'm going to finish up scene 2 and start on scene three. I'll still have a sense of accomplishment if I finished scenes three and four without cheating. Plus I really want to see the rest of that game. The voice acting is second to none and it definately is one of the greatest games of all time.
Dale changed his tranny fluid earlier in the week so he could get his van to run. He then proceeded to pick up Benny and drive all around. On Saturday as soon as I got home Holly called me and said that he got his van stuck in the road because he couldn't get it in the driveway. Then he tried to move the Dynasty and the tranny basically failed even worse than it did last week. He was trying to get Holly to help him and I don't know what he was thinking. I don't know why he didn't just call up Benny and get his wife to push it in the yard. He went to Gary's and borrowed Gary's truck to push it in. Diane's truck got stuck in the driveway and Dale had to get it out. On Saturday while warming up my car and getting ready to go to my house I faintly heard Gary calling for help. I went up there and he flipped his car over. I had to pick him up and put him back into his cart.
I started reading the Dark Pheonix storyline. I like how powerful Pheonix is but don't like some of the weaker elements of the enemies. I only read three issues and have at least five to go. Kitty Pyrde was debuted in the comics and I never really liked her at all. I downloaded X Factor last week (2006) and am going to read that in the next few weeks. I may go back and read the original run because Peter David is so damn good.
I beat Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops and don't know what I will play next. I think I'm going to go to the consoles at Holly's house now. Pick up KOTOR and Devil May Cry 3 where I left off. I think the guitar for Guitar Hero is broken but it's not official yet. I stepped on the wami bar and don't know if it works at all now. Also brought Starcraft here and I'm going to sit down and really try to paly a RTS for the first time in my life.

Sore Ankle, Dead Dynasty, New Car Hunt
My ankle was very sore all week. I was gimping around all week and needless to say, I didn't get any running done. Playing hockey really seemed to fuck it up and didn't give it the time to heal properly. I didn't play hockey this morning and hope that without the extended walking periods, it'll start to heal. I started taking the Ibuprofen 800 and mom's Naproxen to try to help it out. I totally forgot about the Ibuprofen and should've started taking it much earlier.
Tuesday Night on the way to work the car started to die. It wouldn't shift gears right and I had to pull over three times. I made it to work and called Dale to meet me in the morning. I thought he might know a temporary fix but he didn't. He drove the Dynasty home and I followed in his van. The rest of the week was mostly focused on looking for a car. Dale took me down 115 on Wednesday and we stopped at five or six dealers. There weren't too many great deals, besides Family Motors 2. They had some decent deals but most were too old for what Holly wanted. I think when the van goes I may go down there and get something older with low miles. Holly and I found a dealer we really liked in Allentown and planned on going there on Saturday but we got snow so we didn't end up going. They have an 03' Neon with only 28000 for 6600. They also have an 03 Focus with 48000 for 6000. I'm leaning towards the Neon. They also have a bunch of great priced Misubishis but they're out of the price range. Dale is supposed to take me Monday and lets hope we get a decent car that lasts for years to come. It's too stressful shopping for cars and totally drains me out. I took 3000 out for a down payment and hope to have the car payed off in the next few months. The tax check will wipe out the Care Credit and Car loan. I just hope my car last the next few months.
Jeremy started a new defiance where he takes out his dick and pees on things. He peed on the dog food bag under the table and then on his book after he was punished for doing so. He didn't do it for two days and then on Friday night he peed on the carpet in the hallway. I was getting ready to go to work on Thursday night and went into my bookbag and my badge was missing. He took it out and was playing with it and had it hid in his Cooties game box. Sherly found it for me. Holly has been sitting him down to eat dinner and he's eaten every night. We have to fight him and threaten him to do so but he's eaten Hotdogs, Chicken Nuggets, and Spaghetti.
I took Holly to A&W to eat on Saturday night and then to the Dollar Store so Jeremy could get some Valentines to send out and a toy for him. Came home and hung out. Played some Grim Fandango and ended up falling asleep at 12:30. Woke up at seven and was playing Grim Fandango and messing around online for a while.
The Rangers are playing right now but the satellites are knocked out. They were playing pretty decent before losing two in a row to West Coast Teams. Valquet shut out Philly the other night and he's playing right now against the Capitals. It was nice of Renney to give him another chance in net. I hope he pulls through. Drury has been hot lately. The Red Wings game is on at 3:30 and I'm planning on watching it.

GIANTS WIN!!!

They pulled it off!!! And while it wasn't pretty by any stretch of the imagination, the fourth quarter game winning drive was pure excitement and determination. And the fact they beat the Patriots and ruined their undefeated season makes it so much sweeter. I definately want to get a superbowl jersey or sweatshirt but I'm going to wait until things cool off a bit. I was looking into getting a Giants jersey a few months ago but the only players they had were Manning and Shockey and I'd rather have someone like Umenyoira or Burress. Plus I definitely don't want the I'm not going to get the Superbowl winning hat because the Conference Champions hat is 100% nicer anyway.
Thursday Night into Friday morning we had a nasty ice storm. I was hoping to get out of work late so the ice would have a chance to melt (the temp was supposed to warm) but it was the only day of the week I got out on time. I got home ok, just took my time. They closed all the schools and Holly didn't have to go to work. I had to go to the welcome center to run and ended up hurting my ankle on the treadmill. I don't know if it was because my running sneakers are too soft for the treadmill but after 3.5 miles it really started to kill. My goal was to do 4 but I just had to stop. It bothered me at work on Friday Night and I had to limp around all night. I had to go help out in the hub at the end of the shift Friday and it was really a pain in the ass. I don't like it down there. I stayed an hour and fifteen overtime taking my weekly OT to almost 4. My ankle started to get better on Saturday morning. I woke up really pissed off because Holly told me I had to change my tires and I took Jeremy's guitar out of his hands and broke it over my knee. One of the most dickhead things I've ever done. I feel really guilty about it even though Jeremy doesn't seemt to care or remember. The Dynasty has a slow leak in the front passenger tire and it's going to have to be watched. I bet we'llbe changing it later this week. I changed the tired with the help of Dale and went home. Took a quick shower, ate a bit and then went out with Holly. We had planned on going to the movies to see "There will be Blood" but they didn't have a night showing. I didn't want to see Rambo because Benny got it from NY and I forgot about Cloverfield. Holly and I ended up going to Panchero and then shopping. I bought a Steve McNair variant in an Oilers uniform that I'm going to sell on ebay for more than it's worth. Went home on Saturday night and tried to play Starcraft, ended up falling asleep during it and went to bed.
Tim didn't go to hockey but Ry did and he drove me. My ankle was feeing pretty good on Sunday morning when I woke up and I didn't think it would bother me at hockey. I could feel it when I was playing and it bothered me aftewards. I didn't play well at hockey. I wasn't smooth on my stickhandling at all. I did score a few times and maybe one or two assists but thats it. Went home, took a shower and ate. Weight was 184. Four week total is 14 pounds. Have to see when I start to plateau. I don't want to get super skinny like the other runners. I just want to lose five or eight more pounds. Basically just want to get rid of love handles. I fell asleep during the first quarter and a half of the Rangers game. Woke up during the Canadians penalty shot. The Rangers came back scoring 3 goals in 8 mins and winning the game 5 to 3. Hollweg got an elbow to the face from Kovalev that wasn't called and then he got ejected (and most likely pending suspension) for a hit from behind. It was an awesome exciting game.
Lounged around the house the rest of the day, icing and elevating my foot for the most part. I downloaded Grim Fandango and start to play it a bit. I don't like the controls but I guess I'll get used to them. I want to install that and Starcraft on Holly's comp. Forgot to bring the memory stick to my house though. Brought some comics cds home to read (Thor v2, Xmen, FF i think). I wanted to bid on a Cerebus #1 but it isn't going to happen now. The high grade 8.0 copy had a reserve of 375 on it but it's past its reserve. It ends in five hours. I didn't think it would go that high. There's another copy of $1 on there that's up to 218 already with 3 days left. I bypassed buying Flaming Carrot #1 last night because I figured I'd buy a Cerebus but now I regret not buying it. I may just buy a high grade Cerebus #4, first appearance of Elrod because I think it's my favorite stand alone issue by far. This is all stuff I don't need and maybe I can convince myself not to buy any of it.
