Short Weekend, Broken Tranny, 1st Year Rate

Got home from work on Saturday morning and immediately went to sleep. Marathon training schedules usually follow a Mon, Wed, Thur, and Sat (long mileage) but the last thing I feel like doing on Saturday is running. Plus there's a lot of weekenders up and I hate a hundred cars passing me when I run. I slept until about 2 and hung out with Holly for a few hours. Jeremy fell asleep so we decided to go get him some medicine and she wanted to go out to eat. He started to get a progressively sicker each day. We went to A&W to eat, CVS to get medicine and then to the Dollar Store to get him a toy. They had toys in CVS but their prices are crazy. We bought him a doctor kit and toy ninja for a dollar each. There was some crazy New Yorker who was talking to me about the Giants (saw my Rangers Hat). I went to my house and hung out for a few hours. Read some comics and played some games. I was exhausted and went to bed at 1am. I started to get a cold at the end of the week and when I woke up on Sunday I was debating whether or not to go to hockey. I decided to go and had to drive. Ry, Tim, Chris and I piled into the car. Hockey was decent. I got stuck on Defense (volunteered like always). Dave said he wanted to play back towards the end and on my first offensive shift I scored two goals and one assist to Tim. I couldn't play pure offense because he'd always rush coast to coast and wouldn't break out or anything. Chris and I collided hard (the puck was on the boards and I thought he was going to go inside but we both went outside). Tim hurt his ankle in the beginning and I don't think he'll be able to play next week. After hockey, after breakfast (partially) weight was 187.6. Hung out the rest of the day. Went food shopping on the way home to Holly's. Came home and fell asleep pretty quickly. All in all the weekend seemed like the shortest in a long long time. Seems like I slept the whole thing away.

Finished reading Messiah Complex. I liked everything about the whole Crossover and am looking forward the New X titles and reading some older classic issues. I downloaded Endangered Species and am working my way throught it. The issues aren't connected at all but it gives scope to the team rosters. I'm thinking of reading another team book like Wildcats or finishing up the Akira run. I was really enjoying what i'd read of Akira and I have it downloaded so maybe i'll give it a run.

Monday at work they told me the rate was officially 16.96. I'm pretty pissed off about it and am going to call up the HR Head Office. It isn't going to do any good but I can try anyway. I tried to speak to Bill about it and called him 3 times without getting through. I then got into contact with him and he didn't tell me anything I wanted to hear. They're paying the 1st year rate where they previously payed the 2nd year rate. They still pay their drivers the 2nd year rate to entice them. I get 1.00 after one year. Both Eric and Rick quit the position. John and Mike are the next two up for the position and I wonder if they'll take it. Monday morning I went on a jog (2.5 because I still felt the effects of my cold). I was taking an after jog bath when Dale came in and said the tranny went on the car. Holly immediately started looking for a car in the papershop while Dale and I went outside to change the tranny fluid. Changing it only took about 2 hours and it really really really should've been done months and months ago. It probably permanetly fucked up the tranny. The car runs now but sometimes stalls when going into reverse. We'll see how long this thing lasts. I'm not giving it long. Holly thinks the the tranny is going in the van too but I think it'll last longer than she things. Of course she's usually right about these things so we can only hope she's not right this time. Our next car is going to be a newer used car.

I'm towards the end of Metal Gear ( I think). I'm in the mood for a simple platformer after this and have to install a regular Nintendo on my PSP. Maybe Kid Icarus or Metal Slug or will be the next game I play. Chris went back to school this week. He took the Wii and I still don't have the xbox. I lost my tracking number and i'm praying it got there and will arrive home soon. Tim and Chris got me in the mood to play a RTS and I amy try to download one this weekend. Either that or a point and click game since Zack and Wiki really got me in the mood for one. I ran six miles this morning. It rained all last night and then right before work the temperature dropped and iced up all the roads. I decided to go to the Welcome Center and did six on the treadmill. Got up this evening and I'm feeling drained. I felt pretty decent running except for the last mile where I started to get really tired and almost light headed. Have to increase the mileage of the long run by 1 each week. Eric Tucker supposedly gave us Rangers tickets for the Rangers/Devils game at the end of the season. That's the same game that Kerri got tickets to. I hope the rat Tucker doesn't take the tickets back.

The Hub, Money Problems, Pinky Toe Nail Loose, Almost Pulled a Robin

Started my new shift on Monday. It was a cold night and the first skid I pulled out of my first trailer dumped on me. It was a skid of pancake mix. I worked with Bob and Joe and Skip and that other kid. Working down in the city is easy. It's almost too easy, compared to the hub. Never really have to build a deck again. I'm really grateful that I got this position. If not, I'd be stressed out working on the hub with all those drivers. The only bad thing about the position is that I have to get to work half an hour early in order to get a forklift. Hopefully next week when Rick comes back he can reserve a lift for me when he comes in at 730. There's a big debate over there about my wage. Initially Dale told me it would be something like 17 or 18 an hour. Then I heard from Rick that the wage would be 18.85. That seemed right because just a few weeks ago I asked Donnie what he was making and he said 19.85. That would make 18.85 the starting wage and 19.85 top rate which is achieved after one year. Then on Wednesday Jeff asked me to sign my full time contract and it said 16.95. I told him I wasn't going to sign it because I thought the rate should be higher than that. He said he also thought it should be higher and he'd speak to Bill. After speaking to Bill he said it should be the 18.85. Then when I walked in today Jeff told me that Harrison wasn't happy with that rate. If they try to take that rate away (which I assume is going to happen) I'm going to make a lot of phone calls to get it straightened out. Plus the fact that I signed a contract for the 18.85 which is a legal document.

Holly and I have dinner together the last two nights and it's been really nice. She made chicken coated with French's French Friend Onions and spaghetti. We were supposed to take Jeremy to JC Penny for pictures tomorrow but he caught a cold. I'm coming down with it too, mildly but hopefully it'll go away during the weekend.

Holly went to Kohl's for me on Monday and surprised me with the Giants Conference Champions hat!!! She also bought me jogging pants, Dry Fit T and Dry Fit Long Sleeve.

Tuesday morning I sent out the Xbox for repairs. The cunt didn't really give me a detailed receipt and I hope this doesn't come back to bite me in the ass. For some reason I think it will. The office was supposed to open at 8 but of course it opened 9. I went to Walmart and bought an Ipod shuffle which I brought back the next day. I like the size but I hate the last of screen. Plus I don't feel like converting everything over to the Ipod format.

Running has been going decent. I ran a little further than the normal route on Monday (To the second stop sign and then to the clubhouse and back). Skipped Tuesday morning because I was exhausted. On Wednesday I went balls out and went from the house past the other stop sign to the clubhouse and back to the house. All together it amounted to 5 or more miles. I just felt really strong and kept on pushing. I had super rubber legs afterwards and a runner's high. Thursday morning I had knee troubles and almost gave up in the beginning but I decided to push it out. I did and it turned out to the be the hardest run ever. On the way home I started to get extreme cramping and pressure in the bowels and I almost didn't make it home. It seemed like every step pushed the shit that much further out of me. About a year ago my pinkie toe nail came off and I couldn't recall the reason. It had to be from running because my left pinkie toenail is coming undone and it hurts. I'm taking the day off today and then going tomorrow. Think I'll adopt the Marathon schedules they have online. I also saw an add for the Beltsville Triathlon. I'm really curious about it an I want to do it. It's 1.5 mile swim, 50 bike and 13 run. It's half an Ironman. Registration is 150 dollars though. And the swimming is my super weakness.

Read the first 9 issues of Messiah Complex and I'm really digging it. I'm going to download the rest this weekend (because they're out already) and then read the previous arc (Endangered Species) and Astonishing X Men. I'm in the mood for mutant books and I may go back and read some older ones. There are the classics that should be read by every comic fan. Dark Pheonix Saga, Days of the Future Past, etc. I also read Thor 1-5 which I enjoyed and am looking forward to the other issues. I'll probably read Spiderman and catch up on Daredevil.

The stock market has been absolutely nuts lately. I got home from work Tuesday morning and missed the emergency rate cut. I haven't bought anything but wanted to buy SIRI and was too late on that one. Then I checked the market on Wednesday and it was down a few hundred points. When I woke up I found out it ended up nearly 300. The biggest point swing in a day since 2002.

Giant's going to Superbowl!!! Marathon plans...

A nail bitter of a game. Tynes pulled out a 47 yard field goal in OT to win it. He missed two field goals in a row before that, most notably a 37 yarder that would've won the game with 3 seconds left. Going to the Superbowl, going to the superbowl!!! It's awesome that the year I start watching football the Giants are in the Superbowl. I want to get a hat or shirt that says conference champs but I'm going to wait until after the Superbowl because if they win it, I'll just get the Superbowl Champions hat.

The weekend was decent but short. Friday night after work I finished watching Jarhead. Ok movie, nothing to go crazy over. Played some Metal Gear and then went to sleep. Saturday went to my house and hung out the whole day. Attempted to watch the Ranger's game but the satellite only had some gay NHL Center Ice Viewer that had the screen divided into nine sections, each playing a game. So esentially we only had 1/9 of a 19" screen. Chris and I got binoculars and magnifying glasses but it didn't really help. Played Zack and Wiki and have to say I really, really like it. It's a fun, interesting, thought provoking game. I'm looking forward to playing it again. I was going to try to stay up all night to get my body used to my new shift but I couldn't do it. I crashed at 4:30 and then got up at 8 for hockey. Hockey went well and I'm feeling more and more comfortable every time. My wrist shot/snap shot is still shit and I'm still off balance some but it's getting better. We're having some cold cold days so hopefully i'll be able to practice ice hockey somewhere in this community. I'm going to buy new wheels today which will also help me with balance. Just have to figure out how to do it with the mini bearings and spacers and everything like that. There are alos about twenty wheel choices and I don't know which ones to get. I'll get two different wheel combos and see which ones work best.

Came home from hockey and watched the Ranger game. The team is doing really shitty. Drury hasn't done anything at all this year. It's very frustrating. I downloaded a Masters of Hardcore CD and the Spiderman Man "One More Day" storyline and read/listened to that before the Giant's game. I also downloaded Thor 1-5 and Messiah Complex, which I'm going to start reading momentarily. Also Hulk 1 but haven't gotten to that yet. I like the x Books and may start reading those consistantly. That's about it. Going to read and play on here for a bit and then go take a nap to get ready for tonight.

Went jogging this morning and went past the usual stop sign to the next stop sign and then on the way back went to the clubhouse and back. Added probably 1/4 to 1/3 to the mileage. I'm going to go out there and recalculate a new, longer route. When I came in I had icicles in my sideburns.

I've been toying with the idea of the Pocono Marathon and I decided that I'm going to do it. I have 100 days to train. It costs 75 bucks but it goes to charity and you get a T-shirt and spagetti dinner and medal to finish. Lets see how the progress goes the next few weeks. I'm going to have to start upping the mileage and we'll see what hapens there. I did feel pretty strong this morning on the way back. Working through the pain.

Snow, Broken MP3, 2.6 straight, and $20,000 Raise

It's been snowing almost everyday. I had to drive home in it on Sunday night, Monday night, Tuesday afternoon and night and twice today. We haven't gotten any kind of big accumulation but it's a nusance snow and I can't stand it. Holly is going to have to drive home in it again tonight and I just hope she gets home ok. I can't wait for this winter to be over.

I got one of the five full time dock positions!! Almost 19.00 an hour. I'm assuming that I'm going to have to work on the shitty hub shift with all the truck drivers but is definately worth it. If only Marty could put in a word to keep me working the same shift. That would almost be too easy. But at least I'll get to see Holly for a few more hours a day now. And we both won't be as tired. On Monday Dale went around asking people if they wanted the position. He didn't ask me, of course. On Tuesday, Woods told me he got a position and he asked me why I didn't. I went up to Ed and Dale and asked them and they said because I tried to do the driver program it pushed my senoirity date back to 04/07 instead of 08/05. I was fuming when I heard and I blunty asked Dale "So you guys are fucking me here, huh?" I planned on speaking to whoever I had to speak to on Wednesday to get it straightened out but it turned out that the only people I had to speak to was HR (who didn't know anything of the situation) and Bill who got everything straightened out for me. SO A 20,000 DOLLAR RAISE!! I just feel bad for John, who they told had a full time position and then took it away from him. If they would've done right by me the first time, he wouldn't have had to hear about the job. I told him to call them up and bitch and that they may extend the position to him anyway but I kind of doubt that he did.

I took Jeremy to Walmart to buy a sled yesterday. I was wearing my weight vest under my Rangers hoodie and then my thermal jacket so it looked like I was a 300 pound man. I thought that I may get searched because I was a bit lumpy but no one really gave me an extra glance (except people looking in disgust at the fat fuck). I saw Carol there and spoke to her for a min. I wonder if she really noticed. She didn't really look me in the face the whole time she spoke to me. After shopping, I took Jeremy to the hill behind the club house. There was a layer of ice under the snow and I fell twice carrying Jeremy. I think it scared and stunned him some. We went down the hill twice before he said he wanted to go home. I pushed him around in the yad for a bit before we went in. I want to get another sled or snow tube and take Holly there. I think we'd both have fun doing it.

I tried to turn on my MP3 after work and it didn't power up. I don't see how the cold could have killed it because it was in my car for about a year.

This morning I ran to the stop sign and back without stopping!! My body has grown accustomed to it quickly. My first day running I could barely go for a min and now I did twenty something straight. I wore my new sneakers for the first time. They're comfortable but the left one feels different then the right one. Must be the way I run.

Dale needed tobacco and toilet paper (don't know why he couldn't say something yesterday when I went out) so I had to go get that today. I stopped by the bike shop and got a valve for my road bike. Probably won't be able to ride it tomorrow but hopefully I can get on it next week.

14 Jan 08

Official weight after hockey and breakfast: 194.1 . Not bad. Less than I liked but better than the intial scare I had on the scale on Saturday night (197.5). The Xbox officially broke on Saturday night. Got the red rings of death. And NIN didn't come out with a new album. It was an album that Trent produced.

Played better at hockey yesterday morning. We had ten guys to a side. Tim, Mike, Ryan, Mark, and I were a line. I had three goals and I don't know about any assists. It seemed like I was passing it a lot but there weren't such great passes sometimes. My stickhandling was better than the week before but not great. I missed a few easy breakaway type goals. I'm going to buy new wheels this week (the last of my X mas money) because I'm still falling down quite a bit. We played five guys on a line again and it worked out well. If Big Wheel was just a little bigger it would be even better. I played Sunday Night but there were only four guys to a side. The guys were telling me the week before they had 2 lines each (but of course there was no goalie so that probably prevented them from coming back again). I might go back in two weeks but I dont' know. Chris Abuiso was telling me he played ice hockey on Saturday Night in Allentown so I may try to go on the weeks I don't go on dates with Holly. I was supposed to go food shopping after hockey but it was snowing so I came straight home.

Just got my weight vest. Haven't opened it yet. I wore my Nike T-Shirt to jog this morning and i really like it. I'm going to go pick up another one or two when I get down to Kohls again. I want to get a long sleeved T because when I went today my arms were sweaty from the fleece but the rest of my body didn't feel sweaty. I didn't try out the new sneakers because it was snowing and I don't want to get them wet. The weather is forecasting a nasty week and I'm hoping they're wrong. I beat Ratched and Clank: Size Matters and I just started playing MGS. I'm currently downloading Syphon Filter and I want to catch upon some comic storylines soon.(downloaded the Spiderman one but didn't bring it here to read this week.).

Hmmm...

Just weighed myself; a real letdown. Thought I'd lose at least four pounds this week but it looks like I only lost two to three pounds. I'm going to get my official tally tomorrow after hockey and AFTER breakfast. Probably the same results. I'm going to add the biking to the mix this week and hopefully start training with my weight belt so it may help. I'm not looking to drop to 160 or anything. Just looking to lose the love handles and get to a lean, athletically strong 175-185.

Holly's dad took the radiator out of the old Dynasty and put it in the new one yesterday/today. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to help the heat situation. I hope the new thermostat works because I miss listening to satellite radio. Plus switching the cars every week will be best to preserve them.

We went to the Rob Zombie concert last night. We got there right as the opener was closing their set. I was impressed with the venue and liked it. We got there too late to get a good seat so we went to the very top balcony. I had Holly on my shoulders for a few songs but she didn't like being up there. I just wanted her to enjoy herself. Zombie was good but the concert seemed short, probably because we didn't see the opener. I didn't like how his set list was situated. The encore was two songs that nobody seemed to know. All in all the concert was decent though. Some piece of shit grabbed Holly's ass on the way out and I was one second away from getting into a fight with him. I was just so close to elbowing the fucker in the face. He had friends with him but I didn't really care if I got beat up. I just didn't want to get arrested. I really don't know what to do in that kind of situation. If I don't break his fucking face open I feel like a weak piece of shit but then if I do, I get arrested and have to deal with all that shit.

Holly and I went to return the hooded sweatshirt, long sleeved T, and sweater. At Kohl's she ended up getting a pair of pants and sweater, I got a Nike T, Rebok Thermal, and a pair of Asics running sneakers, and Jeremy got Horton Hatches an Egg Dr. Seuss book. We went to Old Navy to return the sweater and then to Best Buy. I just wanted to look around in there and I ran into Brian. It was awkward and we spoke for about five mins before he left. Then we went to Burger King for dinner and K Mart for Pull Ups and socks. Jeremy was really bad in Kmart and he threw a fit in Kohl's over a Thomas toy. Went back to Holly's and hung out for a little while, watching a few seconds of the Pacs game and Jeopardy and then came here. Chris went to the Ranger game tonight with Tim and he got to meet some players. I was bitching about it because I was jealous.

I missed the news of a new NIN album and have to download it. I hadn't heard anything about it until Chris told me.

The 360 may be dying. It was freezing for Chris so I guess the three rings of death aren't very far away.

10 Jan 08

The weather snapped from arctic last week to unseasonably warm this week. All the side roads in the community were a sheet of ice and the weather melted them all. Big things happened this week. I started my workout program (not really a big deal) and Holly started her externship. She was throwing up and didn't sleep on Sunday night, Monday morning but she roughed through it (like always) and has been doing well this week. They've been keeping her busy and she hasn't really had the time to sit and think abotu everything. Even the dining situation there seems to play to her advantage.

I've run every morning and it's getting a little easier each day. I've been sticking to a healthy diet that is much improved over the diet I was eating when I was working out three times a week. I don't know when or if i'm going to add the weight training. I've been getting home tired at night, even unable to spend much time with Holly before falling asleep. I hate to go to the gym when everyone is there. We've had great weather this week but maybe after the weather turns shitty again I'll just go to the gym at night and run and lift there. I was going to add biking after my runs but I went into the shed and found out that my bike has a flat tire. I'm going to tbring it home this weekend and bring my road bike here. I can run and bike on the road, as long as the main roads aren't too snowy and icey. I bought my weighted vest which should arrive here sometime next week. Forty pound weighted vest and I got free shipping!! Amazon is the best site ever! I got the cheaper vest. If it doesn't work well, I'll invest in the better one. I think I also found a place where I can ice skate. It's in that spot in the community where I caught the pickorel. It will be a small surface but it should freeze over perfect (crossing my fingers). Also going to start using my punching bag on the weekends and maybe the weight machine over there.

I took Jeremy for a long walk on Monday and to play on the playground on Tuesday. I tried to take him out on Wednesday to play hockey but it was really really windy. I'm going to jump in the bath after I'm done on here and then take him out for a walk. I'm going to try to do things with him as mcuh as possible. I was going to bring back the clothes to Kohls and Old Navy but my hooded sweathshirt is in the van.

The stock market has been absolute shit until just a few minutes ago, when Bernake made comments about cutting Fed Rates. I'm watching it right now but things are going crazy and I'm scared i've gotten in too late. I think the Dow will rally past 200 points but most of the individual beaten down stocks are up over 6 percent already. People may sell into strength though. Who knows.

Only been playing Ratchet and Clank lately. Some parts are harder that I thought they'd be. I also beat the part on COD 4 I was stuck on. I'm in the mood to play an enriching RPG and think I will start up KOTOR again after I beat Ratchet. I also want to beat Contra 4 (and 3) and Devil May Cry 3.

Feel the burn you fat fuck!

All the disgusting flab and fat is going to start coming off this week. I've made a commitment to start working out. I've been sitting around stuffing my face for long enough and I'm disgusted with myself. I wish I could play hockey more and other sports as well to keep in shape but maybe when Jeremy is in school I can play pickup leagues or something at the Y. I even want to get together with Marty to play basketball or racquetball.

I was originally going to go work out at the welcome center at night when everyone is sleeping but I may readjust my sleep pattern to get up early and work out. It would be nice if the three of us could all get into a ritual where we all go to sleep at the same time (12ish) and that may be what I'm aiming for here. Going to the welcome center is a hassle to me and I don't really feel that comfortable there. I hate working out in front of the guards and the camera. Plus I want to start paying more attention to the stock market and maybe start making more trades.

My initial plan is to ease into it with cardio. I'm going to get up every morning and jog a few miles (and probably bike this week because of the nice weather). I bought healthy foods at the store and am CUTTING OUT ALL JUNK FOOD. Dad also brought me home chicken and steak to eat during the week. I'm going to do push ups and crunches this week. I'm also going to buy a weighted vest to run with. I don't know if I'm going to train for a marathon with this jogging or not. I'm also considering a light weight training workout. I have to look into it more and see if it's effective to work out only twice a week. I think I read the gains by working out twice a week are ten or fifteen percent less than working out that third day. I want to do things right if I'm going to weight train using protein supplements two to three times a day. I was considering working out in Holly's basement but I think it's just too damn dank and mildewy and cold down there. My naked weight before shower today was 198 after hockey and breakfast and I was originally aiming for a 10 pound loss this week but am looking for a rational four to six pound reduction as I cut down the extreme amounts of junk food I've been eating and get my heart pumping. I kept myself motivated working out 3 times a week for about a year last time and I'm motivated again. Let see how this pans out. I'm debating on whether I should take a picture every week for progress sakes.

Week in Review

It was a short work week although we did have an Arctic front so it was frigid. Wednesday and Thursday were horrible and Friday warmed up a little. The forecast for next week is looking good (everyone was gloating about the 50s and 60s but we'll be in the 40s). They told us that we had to work a mandatory 8 hours on Thursday but I walked out of there after six. A few weeks ago I saw Ed's cousin at Walmart and he mentioned something to me about hiring full time dock. I asked Ed the next day but he said it would probably be during the spring time. But on Friday he called me up to the desk in private and asked me if I was interested and told me to look for the bulletin posting and to keep my mouth shut. He mentioned something about Dale asking him to ask me so if Dale is the one that's doing the hiring I'm just going to talk to him direct. I've gotten along well with all the supervisors in the place and that's exactly what I'm going to tell Dale. Ed did call me over in private but for some reason I think I'm getting my hopes up here prematurely. So we'll see what happens this upcoming week. Hopefully I'll know one way or the other what is going to happen. I'm most likely going to be on the Hub shift which is horrible but with the full time pay (I expect 18.00) we will be doing well. Crossing my fingers.

Holly and I went to Steamtown on Friday because she needed some new clothes for the externship. I stayed with Jeremy while she was shopping. He was good most of the time but started getting antsy when we were getting ready to leave. He did end up playing in that play place that was there and actually went up top this time. He's social with kids and was asking them their names and was talking to them for a little while. A little girl got stuck in the top near the slide and he was really concerned about her. At one point three workers and a small group of parents were staring at the little girl before the mom went up there and got her down. Jeremy ate almost another whole slice of pizza. I found a nice pair of New Balance that I bought myself, as well as the new Jagr figure and a David Wright figure from the Collectibles store.

Saturday Night was date night and Holly and I went to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner. I got a burger (was in the mood for a real man's burger) and she got the Crabcake Sandwich. I like the burgers they have at Tuesday's and I didn't think Holly's was that bad. The food took a long time to come out even though it wasn't busy. We also had a chocolate cake dessert together. We then went to see No Country for Old Men. It was a decent movie but for some reason I expected more from it. Probably because both Holly and Chris have been wanting to see it and wanting me to go with both of them. Holly and I then went food shopping and I bought some wool gloves and that push up attachments.
I played the worst game of hockey I've ever played and really didn't expect to do so. I kept falling, got winded really fast and couldn't even control the puck. My defense was horrible too. I wanted to play the night session but it wasn't fair doing so this week. I may try to play next week, if I get good responses from people who played this week. There were too many people at hockey and we played with 5 people on the floor for the first time ever. I wasn't as bad as I expected but four is more beneficial with the size of the floor. Came home, played with the punching bag and watched the Giant's game who beat Tampa Bay 24-14. Eli had a great game and I hope we do well against Dallas.

Stock Picks

It's a quarter to five and I can't sleep. My mind is racing with stock picks and I hope I can be moderately sucessful with them this week, with the weakness in the market the last few days leading to a bounce next week and CES. Last time the market did consistantly bad I missed the bounce and didn't play what I would've (ETFC). Here are the stocks I'm looking at and why. Some seem to be very important trading ideas, others are just things i'm toying around in my head.

Long Term and Trades:

SMSI has lost about 10% the last week. The little blurb in the wall street journal definately makes me think this baby could jump hard and fast this week. I'm debating whether to put more money into this stock for a short term bounce play or for the long term.

AMD has been killed for more than 60% of share price since October and INTC has lost more than 20% in the last week alone. There is risk in the sector with INTC downgrade and weakening global demand but I don't these prices are going to get much lower. This is the lowest AMD has been in five years. With CES I think these puppies can bounce on Monday morning.

Ras- This chart has been up and down the last few months. Going strictly by the chart you could almost always seem to buy with the weakness in the mid sevens/early eights, gain to mid nines and short to mid sevens/early eights. This stock broke through the moving averages and reluctance points to 11.5 earlier this month but has fallen straight since then.

SIRI has added more subscribers, cut operating costs and is STILL trying to get their merger. The stock broke below the 3.00 mark on Monday trading and has risen a bit since. I honestly haven't been watching it much but at this level it's definately a play. Any speculative merger news moves it up. XMXR also a good play because these stocks move in tandem with each other.

Goldman Sachs had an awesome quarter, didn't lost on subprime and their stock hasn't risen much. Looking looking looking.

Petrobras I've been hearing a lot about but their stock has been doing well consistantly which scares me a bit. Focus Media i've been watching for a little while and it seems really cheap with the olympics coming up. Akeena Solar is another I'm watching but thinking it may break and dive soon.

Watching:

CC and RAD i've been watching since their shitty earnings. CC just rose for the first time on Friday (meager .04 but it swung 10% during the day) and RAD hasn't risen. I think once they bounce they'll be good for 10 percent at least.

NEOL is down to .55 and it made an announcement about their drugs. The PR didn't move the stock much though.

MCZ hasn't had much weakness and has held up the last days. I wanted to buy when the stock dropped but never did. I think this will see a pop with the next earnings and will be watching.

Other investments ideas:

Gold-I'm weary of how high this has come but when recession hits I think money will be plowed into gold for a safe bet.

BRIC- I heard someone mention Russia cellphone providers which perk up my interest. I don't hear about Russia as much as the others. Strong plays in India are domestic Indian companies. Focus Media looks cheap to me. Brazil is for PetroBras

New Year's Eve/Day

Both days were nice and relaxed, perfect in my book. We went out New Year's Eve day to pick up a bottle of champagne and then came right home. Dale made a roast in his pressure cooker which came out decent. Holly seemed to really enjoy it so that opens up possibilities for future meals. A pressure cooker is always a worthwhile appliance to have. Holly made the apple turnovers and potato skins. Stupid Rachel Ray said to bake the turnovers on wax paper and the whole first batch were stuck to the paper. Both came out good although the turnovers aren't really my style. Holy was all dolled up and looked beautiful. We made love and hung out, watching the last four episodes of the first season of Weeds. New Years day we just hung out the whole day. Holly made the Fried Green Beans which came out superb, better than at Fridays. Fridays' beans have a bit of a nasty after taste probably caused by the oil they use to fry them in. I finished watching Buffalo 66 and then just played games the rest of the night.

I'm really looking forward to this upcoming year and have been for a long, long time. Holly is finally going to be done with school and that means we can get out of this fucking house. Even if things are rough with my money which they may be, it'll be a thousand times better for both of us living in a place we like living, with the freedom to really be husband and wife and do what we want to do WHEN we want to do it. Holly has a lot of pressure on her and has for a while now but I'm very very confident that she will do excellent in her externships and her job. She never gives herself any credit. That soon may change. I cannot say enough how much she is changing lately. The anxiety program really seems to be working and her anxiety levels and attitude are getting a complete overhaul. These things haven't happened overnight but you can see all the subtle changes in her, especially her willingness to do difficult tasks. Whereas she would avoid them before, she will do them now. She is very very very strong and will only get stronger.

Here are things to try to do for the New Year:

-Become a better investor and learn more about the business world. I know how I am, hardcore into hobbies for short periods of time but I'm very very interested in all aspects of business and investing and hope this will lead me into a career, whether it be investment banking or as a small business owner.
-Overhaul my emotions. Be more patient, loving, understanding, less angry.
-Get into better shape. I don't know how committed I am here. A few weeks ago I vowed to start working out once Holly started the externship. I know I'm going to have to do it at least two to three times a week because I'll be coming home to a dark house here where my only options are to play the PSP, play on the computer or read the newspaper in the bathroom. I think maybe I'll do some simple lifting and cardio. The idea of telling people I finished a marathon is appealing but I doubt it's enough of inspirational booster to make me go there and run a few times a week.
-Finish my book. This is a toughy but if i'm home with Jeremy all day and Holly is working, I think I can at least transform this into a first/second/final draft and try to sell the stupid fucking thing.
