Week in Review

It was a short work week although we did have an Arctic front so it was frigid. Wednesday and Thursday were horrible and Friday warmed up a little. The forecast for next week is looking good (everyone was gloating about the 50s and 60s but we'll be in the 40s). They told us that we had to work a mandatory 8 hours on Thursday but I walked out of there after six. A few weeks ago I saw Ed's cousin at Walmart and he mentioned something to me about hiring full time dock. I asked Ed the next day but he said it would probably be during the spring time. But on Friday he called me up to the desk in private and asked me if I was interested and told me to look for the bulletin posting and to keep my mouth shut. He mentioned something about Dale asking him to ask me so if Dale is the one that's doing the hiring I'm just going to talk to him direct. I've gotten along well with all the supervisors in the place and that's exactly what I'm going to tell Dale. Ed did call me over in private but for some reason I think I'm getting my hopes up here prematurely. So we'll see what happens this upcoming week. Hopefully I'll know one way or the other what is going to happen. I'm most likely going to be on the Hub shift which is horrible but with the full time pay (I expect 18.00) we will be doing well. Crossing my fingers.

Holly and I went to Steamtown on Friday because she needed some new clothes for the externship. I stayed with Jeremy while she was shopping. He was good most of the time but started getting antsy when we were getting ready to leave. He did end up playing in that play place that was there and actually went up top this time. He's social with kids and was asking them their names and was talking to them for a little while. A little girl got stuck in the top near the slide and he was really concerned about her. At one point three workers and a small group of parents were staring at the little girl before the mom went up there and got her down. Jeremy ate almost another whole slice of pizza. I found a nice pair of New Balance that I bought myself, as well as the new Jagr figure and a David Wright figure from the Collectibles store.

Saturday Night was date night and Holly and I went to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner. I got a burger (was in the mood for a real man's burger) and she got the Crabcake Sandwich. I like the burgers they have at Tuesday's and I didn't think Holly's was that bad. The food took a long time to come out even though it wasn't busy. We also had a chocolate cake dessert together. We then went to see No Country for Old Men. It was a decent movie but for some reason I expected more from it. Probably because both Holly and Chris have been wanting to see it and wanting me to go with both of them. Holly and I then went food shopping and I bought some wool gloves and that push up attachments.
I played the worst game of hockey I've ever played and really didn't expect to do so. I kept falling, got winded really fast and couldn't even control the puck. My defense was horrible too. I wanted to play the night session but it wasn't fair doing so this week. I may try to play next week, if I get good responses from people who played this week. There were too many people at hockey and we played with 5 people on the floor for the first time ever. I wasn't as bad as I expected but four is more beneficial with the size of the floor. Came home, played with the punching bag and watched the Giant's game who beat Tampa Bay 24-14. Eli had a great game and I hope we do well against Dallas.
